Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has said his team are also capable of beating Enyimba in Nigeria after they defeated them 2-1 at home in a CAF Champions League Group B.
Sundowns move to the top of the standings, Zamalek of Egypt are second also on three points, while Enyimba are pointless and bottom of the three-team group after the expulsion of Algeria’s Entente Setif.
“We can now go to Nigeria and beat Enyimba again,” Mosimane said after the home win against the Nigeria champions.
“We have conquered the phobia of playing against Nigeria and I am proud of the boys.
“We may have scored some crappy goals and we conceded a goal which I warned them against because their player scored a similar goal against Abia Warriors in a recent Nigeria league game.”
The competition will continue on July 17, when Zamalek host Sundowns.
Enyimba’s next Champions League game is on August 14 at Zamalek.
