Aliko calls Wolves tie ‘payback’

Niger Tornadoes captain and goalkeeper Mustapha Aliko has labelled the top-flight clash against Warri Wolves as ‘payback’ time.

The Minna outfit will host the Seasiders in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 25 clash at their adopted home, Confluence Stadium, in Lokoja.

The NPFL newcomers lost 0-1 to the Warri-based side in the first fixture clash in Warri.

Aliko said his side are however not going out of their way to specially prepare for the clash against Wolves.

“There is no special preparation for Wolves, we will prepare like we normally do for any top-flight clash.

“It will be a payback time anyway as we lost 0-1 to Wolves in the first fixture clash in Warri.

“Of course, we understand the clash will not be easy given Wolves’ pedigree in the domestic league.

“We are not 100 percent comfortable on the league log and need all the points we can lay our hands on in the remaining matches on the calendar.

“We were unlucky at Nasarawa United even with a missed penalty, but we have decided to concentrate and see how we can reclaim the points against Wolves,” the Niger Tornadoes shot stopper told supersport.com.

Tornadoes are 15th on the Nigerian top-flight log on 29 points from 22 matches
